2018 Bordeaux Futures prices here - read more... -Mike writes, "The press has dubbed 2018 another “not to be missed” vintage. Problems at the beginning of the growing season reduced the crops while hot, dry weather through most of it made for very concentrated wines of extraordinary ripeness and sensuality."

Past Tastings

Ca Viola Wines with Beppe Caviola - May 1st

Peter writes, "Last week we were very happy to have a visit from Beppe Caviola and his niece Michela. They led tasters through his wines which included Dolcetto, Barbera, and Barolo."

The Joys of Blending - April 24th

The two whites were like in weight but showed different degrees of brightness in the mouth. The 2017 Stark Condé Field Blend showed more textural and flavor complexity while the 2017 Marcel Deiss Alsace was a bit more focussed drive.

Winemaker Visit - Evan Martin of Martin Woods Winery, Willamette Valley Oregon - April 10th

Evan Martin makes serious wines in Willamette Valley. Like better burgundies, they are reticent when young or first opened and need air or time to let them bloom. Unlike many burgundies, they do not have hard edges and so are approachable almost all at once.
