Valle Reale is a fantastic property high in the mountains of Abruzzo. They are actually in Gran Sasso National Park with its extensive flora and wildlife. Montepulciano was first planted In this area. Leo Pizzolo bought this ancient property in 1998 and began making organic and authentic wines of Abruzzo. The single-vineyard, very old vine San Calisto became his flagship wine.
This offer is for the 2015 Valle Reale Montepulciano d’Abruzzo San Calisto. The good news is this is one of the finest wines of central Italy period. The bad news is that Leo had to replant the entire vineyard, so this will be the last San Calisto for twenty-five more years. The vineyard is next to the large organic garden on the property. The wine is made with spontaneous fermentation and beautifully expresses its complex terroir. It is rich in both fruit and structure and will age for many years.
Leo gave us everything he could. Still, this is a limited supply. My recommendation is that you get as much as you can. Maybe you can still have a bottle when the next one is released in 1940.

2021 Annesanti Extra Virgin Olive Oil

A small farm sits in the middle of nowhere in Valnerina, Umbria. There Francesco Annesanti and his father grow oats, legumes, nuts, flowers, grapevines, and olives. Francesco’s wines are new to the market and are not here yet. What is here is the fabulous 2021 Annesanti Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The olives are all hand-harvested, and the press is right on the property. This is a richly fruited oil with notes of leather in the mid-palate and spice in the finish. The bottles are hand-numbered, and the labels are unique.
We are pleased to find this for you as there has been a shortage of olive oil for the pandemic due to supply and shipping issues.
