2004 Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin

Neive

The Paitin Winery was established in Barbaresco in 1796. They bottled their first single vineyard Cru Sori Paitin in 1896. The property is currently run by Giovanni and Silvano Pasquero-Elia under the watchful eye of their father, Secondo. They are most definitely in the “traditional” producer camp.

This dynamic property consistently produces profound and elegant wines. The 2004 Paitin Barbaresco Sori Paitin is simply the best from this vineyard that I have ever tasted. While the quality is equivalent to some of the top producers, the Pasquero-Elias have frozen the price in time not rasied by inflation or a weak dollar. I have been telling regular customers that this is the “deal of the century”. This is a chance for you to indulge in the greatest Barbaresco and Barolo vintage in 50 years at a great price.

Here are the notes from Gambero Rosso: “The indisputable champ is the elegant, ageworthy Sori Paitin 2004, from a harvest that will be long remebered. Aromas of ripe black berry fruit meld perfectly with nuances of spice introducing a very stylish palate brimming with Nebbiolo excellence. No doubts here.”
